Cypress Gardens

So, how did Cypress Gardens become "the most beautiful place on earth?" Well, it started with a dream in a Cypress swamp in the early 1930's. When Dick Pope Sr. started carving a garden out of a swamp, little did he realize he was creating one of the most famous gardens in the world. And 70 years later, it still stands as a vision of natural beauty and testimony to the strength of a dream fueled by perseverance and hard work. The original 35 acres is still guarded by the 70 year old Banyan tree, planted by Dick Pope Sr. himself.

Busch Gardens

Spanning 335 acres, Busch Gardens combines elements of a zoo and theme park. The park is divided into eight African-themed regions. A haven for thrill-ride fanatics, the parks six roller coasters rank in the top 5 in the USA. Busch Gardens is more than a thrill fare, however, with beautiful landscape, excellent shows and a really wonderful children’s play area.

With the wildlife of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the thrills of Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, some may wonder why leave Orlando for a day at Busch Gardens in Tampa? For those who love roller coasters, Busch Gardens boasts six, some of which are rated in the top 10 coasters in the USA. No other attraction can top that in terms of thrills. Those who shy away from roller coasters will find plenty to do at the park with its abundance of animal exhibits, children’s rides, gardens, shows and shops.

The park is only minutes away from the white-sand beaches of St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay, an often-overlooked advantage. A Busch Gardens weekend visit can also be combined Adventure Island, the Anheuser Busch water park in Tampa Bay.

Discovery Cove

All you need to focus on is discovery -- interacting with dolphins, birds, fish and rays in an all-inclusive setting. Attendance is limited to 1,000 guests per day at this reservations-only adventure, setting it apart from the other Orlando attractions.

Experience both power and playfulness during your personal swim with a bottlenose dolphin. It's the centerpiece of your visit, but that’s just the beginning.

Feel a unique mix of both calm and adventure as you snorkel among thousands of rays and exotic fish, and explore the splendor of coral reefs and grottos. Then, enter a series of free-flight aviaries where you can touch, feed and interact with hundreds of colorful tropical birds.
